Universal Kids Resort Frisco Guide

One full park day, a nearby hotel, and an uncomplicated evening.

Current status: Universal Kids Resort officially opened in Frisco in July 2026. Use the official resort site for current tickets, hours, attraction requirements, and operating updates before travel.

Reserve Saturday for Universal Kids Resort

The resort is the full-day commitment. Keep The Star, KidZania, and the National Videogame Museum off the same day's schedule; they sit in other Frisco districts and cannot fit into a tired final hour.

Stay north for the resort, south for Stonebriar

A north-Frisco room shortens the Universal drive and makes an early return easier. Stonebriar hotels work better when KidZania, the mall, and family restaurants are part of Friday or Sunday.

Use KidZania as the arrival-day admission

KidZania's 100,000-square-foot indoor city and 50-plus career activities can occupy several hours. Pair it with Stonebriar dinner on Friday instead of treating it as a quick stop after Universal.

Save The Star for a separate evening

The Cowboys campus and Ford Center plazas sit south of the resort corridor. Visit them Friday before dinner or on a different trip; crossing Frisco after a full park day adds traffic without improving the children's day.

A two-night Frisco family sequence

KidZania Friday, Universal Saturday, one Frisco stop Sunday

Friday: KidZania and Stonebriar

Check into a Stonebriar-area hotel, give KidZania its own afternoon session, then eat near the mall. Families staying closer to Universal can skip the admission and use the hotel pool instead.

Saturday: Universal Kids Resort

Follow the resort's current opening time and parking instructions, then keep the entire day on site. Return to the hotel for pool time, an early dinner, or bed rather than beginning a second Frisco attraction.

Sunday: one smaller Frisco stop

Choose the National Videogame Museum downtown, a walk around PGA Frisco, or a direct departure after breakfast. Stonebriar only makes sense when it is already on the route south toward the airport.

Choose the family base

Universal convenience, Stonebriar flexibility, or The Star

North Frisco and PGA Frisco

This is the shorter-base pattern for Universal Kids Resort. Omni PGA Frisco Resort & Spa adds pools, course-side walks, and on-property dining, while other north-Frisco hotels can trade resort amenities for simpler parking and lower rates.

Stonebriar and KidZania

Hyatt Regency Frisco-Dallas and nearby suite hotels place KidZania, Stonebriar Centre, and many casual restaurants together. The tradeoff is a longer drive north for the Universal day, balanced by an easier arrival afternoon and airport departure.

The Star and Cowboys campus

Omni Frisco Hotel at The Star makes sense when a Cowboys-campus tour or Ford Center event is equally important. It is not the default Universal base: families pay for The Star's walkability while still driving north to the resort.

Frisco hotel arrival for a family trip

Your hotel shapes the family day

A north-Frisco hotel favors Universal Kids Resort and PGA Frisco. A Stonebriar hotel favors KidZania, mall restaurants, and the drive south toward DFW or Love Field. Choose between those two patterns before comparing pools, breakfast, and room layouts.
